Financial Aid Process

Find the right fit for your family.

We understand that cost is a factor.  But, we believe, our value is clear.  Our students are National Merit scholars, Commended Scholars and AP Scholars.  One hundred percent are accepted to college.  More than 90% of our senior class completed 260 Advanced Placement courses and earned 11.9 million dollars in scholarships.  Our college counseling program finds the best fit for each student and has an impressive list of matches.  A Hammond education is an investment that grows for a lifetime.

Hammond works with each family to determine financial need and support.  We offer multiple payment plans, need-based financial aid, and merit-based scholarships to ensure what we offer is available to all talented students who are a good fit for us.  We encourage you to reach out to learn more about financial assistance at Hammond and explore your options.

FAQs

List of 6 items.

  • Does financial aid need to be repaid?

No. Financial aid is a tuition grant that is applied to the cost of tuition and does not need to be repaid.
  • Will I qualify for financial aid?

It depends. SSS uses a sophisticated formula that considers household income, business profits, assets and debts as well as the number of children in tuition based schools when making their recommendation. Awards at Hammond range from small awards to more significant ones and everything in between. For the 2022-23 school year the average award was $6,700.
  • What if I am separated, single, or divorced?

We consider the assets of anyone who is involved in the student’s life, including stepparents. Both mother and father should submit their own PFS and include stepparents on their application.
  • Do I have to reapply every year?

Yes. Because financial circumstances change, we require families to reapply each year. However, you can expect your award to remain consistent if there are no major changes.
  • Will applying for financial aid affect my child’s chances of admission?

No. Students are admitted on their academic fit for Hammond rather than their capacity to pay.
  • Will my award be kept confidential?

Yes, the Admission Office and Student Billing are the only ones with access to financial aid information.
